From September 4-7, the Oshkosh Asia team participated as exhibition sponsors at the Australasian Fire & Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC) 2017 event held at the International Convention Center in Sydney, Australia.

The four days event brought together key fire and emergency leaders from Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region. Over 2,500 fire and emergency professionals attended the exhibition, which showcased the latest services, equipment and technology in firefighting, fire protection, rescue and disaster relief.

AFAC 2017 also featured a four days conference, which addressed the event’s theme of improving collaboration, communication and performance in emergency management. More than 100 international and local speakers shared insights into how using technology & data, improving diversity in organizations, and strengthening interagency collaboration all drive higher performance in emergency management.

With its presence and sponsorship at AFAC 2017, Oshkosh continues its commitment and support to the Australia and New Zealand fire services and looks forward to participating in AFAC 2018 in Perth.

In 2015, Oshkosh Corporation was contracted by the Commonwealth of Australia to supply 28 Replacement Aviation Fire Trucks (RAFT) under LAND 998 Phase 1 to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and the Australian Army.
